The background when I post about compound sentence, because I want to inform of other it has at least two independent clauses joined by a comma, a semicolon or conjunction. The coordinators of independent clauses are: FANBOYS. For, And, Not, But, Or, Yet, So. For the first example is Aisyah waited for the bus, but the bus was late. In this sentence the coordinator but shows a clear relationship between the two independent clauses. Also, without the coordinator but, the writing is choppy and the meaning less clear: Aisyah waited for the bus. The bus was late.

The second examples are Mulan and Samuel left on the bus before I arrived, so I did not see them at the bus station. From that example we know that So is a coordinator to connected between two independent clauses. So I think so far after you read my post.
